The AP Aslam Holy Qur'an Award 2024 is now accepting applications, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for those dedicated to the recitation, study, and reflection of the Qur'an. Named in honor of AP Muhammed Aslam, a distinguished figure with significant contributions across social, cultural, educational, religious, and political spheres in both India and the UAE, this prestigious award aims to recognize and encourage excellence in Qur'anic studies.

The competition is open to boys who are proficient in Malayalam and have memorized the entire Qur'an in Hafs recitation. Participants must be able to recite the Qur'an according to Tajweed rules and have knowledge of the summaries of the first five Juz (Surahs Al-Fatiha, Al-Baqarah, Aal-E-Imran, An-Nisa) and the last five Juz (Surahs Al-Ahqaf to An-Nas). The maximum age for applicants is 22 years; those born before September 1, 2002, are ineligible.

Applications for the preliminary competition can be submitted via the official website, www.aslamquranaward.com, starting from July 15, 2024. Along with personal information, applicants are required to attach a passport-sized photo, a birth certificate, and a recommendation letter from their educational institution, Mahall committee, or any Islamic organization. The deadline for submission is August 15, 2024. The committee will review and approve applications accordingly, and incomplete or incorrect applications will not be considered.

Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the preliminary competition, which will take place in September and October. To participate, they must bring a printed copy of their qualification letter downloaded from the website. The competition will be held across four regions in Kerala (Kollam, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kannur) and six regions in the Gulf countries (Jeddah, Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Muscat, Kuwait). Three participants from each region will advance to the final.

The final competition is scheduled for December 24, 2024, in Valavannur, Malappuram district. Participants must arrive and register at the Qur'an seminar on the evening of December 23. The organizing committee will provide accommodation and food for the participants and one accompanying person.
